The April 19th meeting of the Rotary Club of Beverly Hills Holocaust Remembrance Day
The April 19th meeting of the Rotary Club of Beverly Hills acknowledged and recognized the Holocaust Remembrance Day with two brilliant speakers. First, Ita Gordon told the story about two children who were close friends and separated when they were nine years old only to be reunited some 80 years later. They each thought the other had died in one of the camps. Stephen D. Smith , Director of The Shoah Foundation at USC spoke about anti semitism and current genocides occuring in the world today. He discussed the importance of addressing it now, not for just the Jewish culture but for all countries so history does not repeat itself.
We also gave a charitable grant to Pico Union.
